A new artwork from 8footwalls depicts an imagined scene from Stanley Bay in colonial Hong Kong where junk ships sailed & silk and jade were once traded. One of the oldest villages in the land, this became a place where Eastern culture melded with Western ways with the Colonial rule.
Unbeknownst to many and centuries before its reputation as a modern behemoth, this tropical island was once densely thriving with vegetation & a balmy fragrant air that swept through the orient.
The painting depicts a nostalgic yearning for a more romantic pace in days gone by.
